What We do

   Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is an innovative, experiential approach to personal growth and development that leverages the unique bond between humans and horses. Through guided interactions with horses in a safe, supportive environment, individuals can explore emotional patterns, develop communication skills, enhance problem-solving abilities, and cultivate self-awareness. EAL is not about riding horses, but about the profound lessons that these majestic animals can teach us about empathy, trust, responsibility, and resilience.  

EAL Sessions at True North Equine are guided by a certified Equine Specialist in Mental Health Learning (ESMHL).  The Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) grants these credentials to individuals that meet the necessary requirements. 

  As a child who was fortunate enough to have a horse as a companion from the age of eleven, I can attest to the profound impact these majestic creatures can have on our lives. These magnificent animals bring comfort, peace and healing without ever speaking a word. I was a shy, awkward, yet deeply empathetic young girl who found it much safer to relate to a horse than to engage with humans. At that time, my parents likely couldn't fully comprehend the impact the horses would have on me; they simply observed the joy I exhibited when in their presence. In a moment of faith, they decided to purchase a horse for me, and I am eternally grateful for their bold decision. The benefits of being around horses during my formative years are too numerous to recount.

I believe God’s grace leads us to pursue endeavors we may not believe we have the skills or strength to do on our own. Out of obedience to the calling I felt on my heart, I founded True North Equine, a space dedicated to offering individuals and families the opportunity to experience the transformative presence of a horse.
